Cameron Diaz opens up about some subjects dear to her heart in the latest issue of Vogue. Included in the interview is thoughts on her father's life (he passed away last year at the age of 58.) She also talks about her new film My Sister’s Keeper, where plays the mother of two young daughters, one who is dying of leukemia.
On her father: “I think… emotionally, it definitely took its toll. Definitely. It’s the human experience…You know, that’s what the heart does. Things are given to us, and things are taken away. And I think the heart becomes stronger, more capable.”
On the new film My Sister’s Keeper: “This is a woman who does not waver. That’s not something you want to accept about anybody you love – particularly if you are mother. That’s what I held on to as I was telling her story. You are a parent. You fight to keep your child alive, no matter what it takes."
